What is the size of a forex mini contract?The size of a mini account contract is 10,000 of the base currency. For example, for EUR/USD (where EUR is the base currency), the size of a mini contract is 10,000 euros. In the USD/JPY (where the US Dollar is the base currency), the mini contract size is 10,000 US Dollars. This compares to 100,000 euros and 100,000 dollars respectively for standard accounts. Consequently, the forex mini contract size is 1/10th the size of a standard contract. That means that if you buy 10 mini contracts (lots) of USD/JPY, it is equivalent to buying one regular 100,000 lot in a standard account (10 x 10,000 = 100,000).
